Fine day. Inspection by G.O.C. 8th Corps Gen A. HUNTER WESTON. Church parade. Gen read lessons. Marchpast. Gen very pleased with everything. 1 man wounded. Working party of 200 for burying cable.

Fine day. Training parades. Tactical Exercise. Aeroplanes over about 9.30 pm. Find out they were not hostile. Pleasant surprise meet Norman FALL 1st time 2nd Aus Pioneers, Nice fellow.

Saw Red Rocket again. Perhaps good. 4th.

7 Sept ‘M’ CAMP

Fine day. Training parades. NCOs 3.30 –4.0pm Tactical Exercise. Ad Sd of Bn [Adjutant Sergeant of Battalion?]

Fleet of 25 aeroplanes about 10 am. Fleet of 12 Aeroplanes about 1.0 pm.

6 Sept ‘M’ CAMP

Fine day. Training parades. Had tea party for birthday. Very pleasant time. Aeroplanes passed over camp about 9.30 pm. One fired spray rockets. New boots from P. Footer match Off & Sgnts v. Corporals. Won 5-1.

Nasty morning, rain & mist. Parade 7.45 am. March to ‘M’ Camp POPERINGHE – WATOU Road. Camp fair. Heavy rain in afternoon. Camp soon in bad state.

Fine morning. Church Service 10.30 am. Aircraft very active. 25 of our planes went over enemy lines at 10.15 am.

Fine day. Training parades. CHARMAN, BICKNELL, OSBORNE came up to see us in afternoon. Heavy Arty active in evening. Garage on 8.30 pm. Gas Alarm 11.15pm. Stand down 12.15 am. 2nd Gas Alarm 1.45 am. Stand down 2.20 am. Gas on right & left Sector 1st time. Barrage put on left Sect. Fairly quiet 2nd alarm.
