Fine early morning, some rain later. Very strong wind. Det does drill. Bayonet fighting in afternoon. Very wet night heavy rain from 4.0pm.

Fine morning, rain again late, very cold. We do a little walk at 2.0pm but rain comes on again.

Bad morning, rain nearly all day on & off. We can’t do much drill & feel pretty cold & miserable.

Damp morning, very strong wind & showers. Det goes for a route march return about 12.15pm. Div goes over in morning at 6.10am, we hear later they have taken all objectives, casualties slight. Very heavy storms in afternoon. I get 2 letters from L tonight first for a week. Tres Bien.

Fine morning. Orderly goes up to Regt again, not much news. Det does drill etc. 4^th Div play 8^th Inf Reg (French) at 4.30pm & draw 2-2 poor game. French band play very well, pleasant evening. Saw Red Rocket. Good
