Dull day. Coys do training. We find 150 men & 6 off [officers] for digging as on 25th go by lorry to Feuchy.

Dull day with rain & wind. Coys [Companies] bathing & find working parties. Bttn [Battalion] as strong as possible, pde [parade] for work 5.30 pm digging, go to FEUCHY by lorry.

Dull day. Bgde  carry out in practice a scheme of an attack at dawn in the neighbourhood of Beaurains. March off 4.35 am. An imaginary relief is carried out & then an attack at 6.15 am,  return to Bks 8.15 am.

Dull windy day. FM Sir Douglas Haig visits 4th Div & we find 1 Coy Guard of Honour who get a good name. Inspection of Bks [barracks] by GOC 4th Division in the afternoon.

Mild day. Coys do training. Lecture in Follies Theatre on Imagination in work & play. Very poor.

Fine day. Bttn carries out firing practice at BEAURAINS also Coy [company] training.

We replay 2nd Sea [Seaforth Highlanders] in afternoon & win 2-1.

CRE gives a lecture in the Ecole Communale on work in the line. Wet at night.
