Saturday 20 April ALLOUAGNE

Fine day, aircraft active. We get orders of Bttn coming out to Busnettes & move up there for billeting. 7.0 pm orders cancelled Bttn to go to Gonenham. We get shelled on the way up, but keep clear. Bttn arrives about 12.0 mn [midnight] & settle in, I get back about 3.30 am fine night.

Fine day. Bttn attack PACOUT WOOD gain objectives, but lose heavily. We get rations up alright. CSM Ariss wd [wounded]

Monday 15 April Burbuce

Dull morning but fine. Get orders to move at 2.0 pm, but cancelled for 1 hour, move at 3.0 pm to ALLOUAGNE. Bivouac in a field, but we square a billet later on in an attic of a house close by , very nice people. Mme Crepel.

Dull morning & very cold. We get squared up a bit & make ourselves comfy, hear rumours of another move. Details  go to AMES at 5.30 pm.

Saturday 13 April Burbuce

Dull morning & we are all very tired, we get 2 days rations & send them up about 2.0 pm, put up bivouacs & get settled in, have the best nights sleep for a week, very cold all day.

Friday 12 April Agnez Douisans

Fine morning, get orders to move at 10.30 am cancelled for 4 hours. Move at 2.30 pm very hot. Bttn goes by Lorry, we trek it. March to Burbuce, west of  Lillers & arrive at 5.20 am 13th inst, very tired & worn out, snatch an hours sleep & then move into a field for our billet.

Thursday 11 April Agnez Douisans

Dull morning we move again Bttn going into Huts, HdQrs & Stores in tents. Nice afternoon & evening. Get nice & comfortable but get ready to move again at 10.30 pm. Get packed up etc but dont move, only stand by. Very little sleep.
