Fine day. I got up to Busnettes in morning for presentation of GOC’s [General Officer Commanding] card, rotten I reckon. Receive a letter from Maj Harwood, no good news only more suspense. Quiet day.

Fine again but rather cloudy, not quite so warm. Fritz very active at night, he drops a good number of bombs & wounded a few men fairly close to us, but we kept clear. Not much sleep.

Fine day, rather strong wind & lots of dust. I visit Bttn in the afternoon, everything OK, but no news, fairly heavy gunfire at night, slight rain but not enough to lay the dust.
