Fine day. We get all kits etc up ready for Bttn coming out of the line. Qrt Mr [Quartermaster] goes on leave & I act pro tem. Bttn relieved at night by R.B. [Royal Berkshire Regiment]

Fine day. I go over with Foulkes to visit the 10th Bttn. See lots of old faces, Charman, Shoebottom, Lake, Bicknell & several others. Return about 6.30 pm. Very nice afternoon. Dukes [Duke of Wellingtons] do a raid capture 29 Huns. We have 10 casualties 4 K 6 Wd
