Fine but cold. Training in the morning. Dance at night. I get my hat from home quite alright. Lecture in the Imperial Cinema on demobilization.

Monday 20 January
Fine day but cold, some rain at night. Civic reception in the morning & photos. I get my suit from England. Tres Bien. We get congratulated on our behaviour in the morning & on the way the troops marched past.
Saturday 18 January
Fine day. Bttn does a troop of the colour for practice only & we get on very well.
Friday 17 January
Dull day. C.O. inspects billets after that nothing doing.
Thursday 16 January
Fine but not a very good day, we do a bit of practice for trooping the colours & get on alright.
Wednesday 15 January
Very wet day & not much doing. R ½ Bttn play left half in league match, the latter win 4-0. I go to Bouvrin in the evening & spend a very pleasant time.
Tuesday 14 January
Wet morning. We do some slow marching in the drill shed & get on very well. Quiet time.
Monday 13 January
Fine day, we do a bit of slow marching, which is very difficult for the men, but they get on alright.
