Quiet morning. About 2 pm Enemy bombarded our trenches & continued till 6 pm. Part of line where no trench existed fell back & reformed in wood behind. “C” & “D” Coys held on & at dusk Trenches were reoccupied & strengthened. At midnight the Welch Regt. took over our line & we took over their position in the G.H.Q. [General Head Quarters] trench, in Support.
