Route march 8.40 am.via HARPONVILLE, TOUTENCOURT, LEALVILLERS. Rained hard in afternoon.
10th Nov
Battalion found 500 men for Working Party on 3rd Line Trenches at Forceville. Wet day.
9th Nov
Coy & Platoon Drill. Coys bath at Acheux. Capt Richards joined from E.Lancs
8th Nov. VARENNES
Men cleared up. General Lambton inspected billets in afternoon. 4th Division Follies in full swing at the SUCRERIE ACHEUX.
7th Nov. TRENCHES

6th Nov. TRENCHES
Work continued on trenches. Front line still bad in parts. General Hull visited Trenches in afternoon. Officers of 2nd Monmouthshire Regt. visited the line.
A few shells fell in Monk Trench & five Torpedoes without damage.
4th Nov. TRENCHES
Hard work clearing trenches. MONK Trench very bad. Germans fired 10 4.2 shells into Monk Trench in morning and Aerial Torpedoes into HELL FIRE CORNER in centre company. Fine day. Our heavies bombarded the REDAN [? ROAD omitted]. during the afternoon.
3rd Nov. TRENCHES
More rain during the night.. Fine day, Trenches worse & impassable in places. All Coys worked hard in clearing trenches & mending the parapet. Several dug-outs fell in & 2 men were killed through this cause. Very little activity on either side.
2nd Nov. TRENCHES
Rained all day, trenches in a very bad state & many landslides in various parts of the Trenches. Men at work all day. 7th Rum issue. Men thoroughly soaked but cheerful. Hostile guns & snipers very active.
