13th January: POINT 63
Digging and Hutment parties found during the day. Wet miserable day.
12th January: TRENCHES – ST YVES
Quiet day, little sniping. No casualties. Relieved by 2nd R.Dub Fus [Royal Dublin Fusiliers] in evening & moved to billets at POINT 63.
11th January: TRENCHES – ST YVES
About 25 shells came over our trenches during the day without causing a casualty. 2 wounded by Snipers. Sergt Webb of “B” Coy killed. 2 Platoons 7th Argyle & Suth Highldrs came attached to us for instruction.
10th January: TRENCHES – ST YVES
Wet day. A little sniping. 4 Officers & 8 N.C.O. of 7th (Terr) [Territorial] Argyle & Sutherland Highldrs came to trenches for instruction. No casualties.
9th January: POINT 63
Quiet day. Battalion relieved 2nd Royal Dublin Fusiliers in trenches in the evening. Quiet relief.
8th January: LA CRECHE
Rain all day. Battalion marched to PT 63.
7th January: LA CRECHE
Parties of men went to cinematograph show at STEENWERCK. Rain all day.
6th January: LA CRECHE
Fine. Battalion rests and get clean. Men of C & D Coy Inoculated at STEENWERCK.
5th January: TRENCHES – ST YVES
During the night 4/5th a German gave himself up in an intoxicated condition. No Sniping, rather more shelling than usual over D Coy. Continue reading
