Saturday 3 August
Dull morning & showers again. Div Horse Show starts, but we don’t do very well 3rd in Cooker & Limber.
Enemy Arty put down Barrage on Left Battalion & attempts a raid which is repulsed.
Friday 2 August
Very wet day. Horse Show should have started but is cancelled on account of rain. Chaplain wounded at L’Eclame.
Thursday 1 August
Fine day. Activity by both artys [artilleries] at night Canal Bank & Mt Bunechon receive at lot of attention.
Wednesday 31 July
Misty morning again, but hot later on. Hostile arty active on reserve line, 2 Bosch planes over at night, bombs on Canal bank & reserve line.
Tuesday 30 July
Misty morning, but very hot later in the day. Hostile Arty [Artillery] normal during the day, more active at night, our arty carry out harassing fire & counter battery work.
Monday 29 July
Fine day. Hostile Arty [Artillery] active in morning on support lines & RIEZ-de-Vinage. Quiet afternoon & night.
Sunday 28 July
Fine day & very quiet. One aeroplane very active. Telephone communications suspended for 24 hours. Hostile Arty [Artillery] active at night.
Saturday 27 July BUSNETTES
Very showery all day & I get fairly wet. Receive a letter from Maj H & see the Col [Colonel] for a recommendation. Bttn moves into the line at night, not a very nice time. Relief complete 12.15 am. D Coy [Company] have 7 men in canal owing to bridge turning over. 1 drowned. Hostile Arty [Artillery] fairly active.
