Fine morning, nice breeze blowing & not too warm. I go for a stroll in the afternoon to Labouverie, very nice walk. Get back in the evening, have a quiet drink with Bert & turn in.

Another lovely day, but very strong wind. What a pity to be out here. Fairly quiet, aeroplanes have had wind to contend with but still carry on. Bert comes in the evening & has supper with me, very pleasant time.

Fine morning very warm. Hostile aircraft very active & much gunning. Bttn prepare to go into the line. Have to take G’coats [Greatcoats], rotten shame, all the winter without, now it’s summer they have to be carried.
