Fine morning C & D Coys [companies] working party (Cable line) 8.30 am. A & B 11.0 am. Final of Div Cup played off 2.30 pm. We win after a fine game & extra time 2-1. Result at full time 1-1. Orton scored both goals. Tea after the match & then both teams to the follies very good show Silver & Bronze medals. nice cup.

Fine morning. Bttn parade 9.25 am for Working party 500 strong, work on cable line, very hard day return about 6.0 pm, tired out. NCO’s class on the Assault Course, lecture at 2.0 pm by Lt. Edmunds.

5.50 am  Stand By ordered. 6.15 am Warning order No 2 issued. Bttn falls in Battle Order at 7.15 am, march off 7.30 am. All straight & in order. Bttn returns about 1.0 pm. We play RAMC [Royal Army Medical Corps] in final of Div Cup & draw 1-1 after extra time, very exciting game & a good match.

Dull miserable morning, slight rain fine in afternoon, but not at all good. Mens Whist drive at night, very good evening.
