Attack carried out very well, communication obtained with CONTACT BIPLANE by lamp & cloth. Reach DAOURS 3.0 pm. Poor billets as usual. Feel very poorly, bad cold, early to bed.

Wet morning, very miserable, no parade possible. Heavy gunning all day & night. No news.

Fine morning. Showers later. Brigade parade at 9.00 am. Easy day. Return about 1.00 pm. Heavy gunning but no news.

Fine morning. Training parades. Very heavy thunderstorms about 5.00 pm. Water everywhere, bad for the offensive.

Fine day. Training parades & bathing had ? swim in River ANCRE, very cold. Good news of the attack. THIEPVAL & COMBLES taken.

Fine day. Leave CORBIE 8.50 am by march route to MERICOURT via BRAY main road. Take up a defensive position on high ground to repel an attack by the rest of the Bde. Attack carried out very well. Arrive MERICOURT at 2.10 pm. Poor village bad billet. Great air activity, several fights over us, in which our planes appear to be the masters.

Leave COISY 9.15 by march route to CORBIE. Brigade practice en route. Stop for dinner at QUERRIEU arrive CORBIE AT 4.30 PM. Good billet. Nice bed.
