Fine morning, I get up early & attend HC at 8.0 am. Church service at 10.0 am very nice. Quiet day good rest.

Fine morning. Very busy getting sports ground ready. Sports commence at 2.0 pm. We do very well indeed & win Generals shield for most points. Programme to Lize. Good day all round. I get a drink of whisky from HQ Mess, quite a shock, first I’ve ever had. Good night.

Fine morning Bttn parade on Brigade parade ground for presentation of medals. Capt WARREN gets MC, Cpl GUEST gets MM. Speech by Lt Gen FERGUSON Corps Comdr. Very hot & several men faint. Fine night.

Fine morning. Bttn does Baths. We go on with training for Bgde [Brigade] sports & get on very well. I attend committee meeting at 5.30 pm. Fine night good sleep.

Fine day very hot. Bttn does training we get to work again with our sports training & have a good day. M.G. Coy [Machine Gun Company] hold their sports on our ground. Finish about 8.0 pm. Very tired. Good night.

Wet morning, fine later, we do some training in the afternoon & evening. Feel a bit stiff but soon work it off. Good nights sleep.

Fine morning, one or two showers later. Bttn sports in the afternoon, very nice pleasant afternoon, everything goes without a hitch. Follies give us a concert in the evening which was very nice. Maj BANNERMAN visits us & enjoys the time. Very tired good night’s sleep.

Fine morning. Church parade 10.0 am very nice afterwards work on sports ground getting things ready. Training in afternoon & evening. Good sleep.

Fine day. BEVAN very ill & has to stay in bed. Dr. says he must go to hospt, but he does not go. We do training again in afternoon & evening. Very tired. Good sleep.

Fine day very warm. Bttn does training. We get a Gym Instructor for Bayonet Fighting. Good days work, get Tug-of-War team at night & do a bit of training. We visit HBs [Household Battalion] & get well greased.
