Wet morning. H C 8.0 am. Church Service 9.45. Presentation of medals at ERCOURT 11.0 am. We send 100 men to parade, nasty morning & they get wet. Sgnt HARROD, L Corp SMART, Pte ?ANKS, Cpl TEDDAR, CSM SHEPPARD & several others get Military Medals. Capt. BEAMISH gets Military Cross. Nasty day. 8 beat 11 2 – 0. 14 beat 13 10 –0. Vol Church Service at night 6.30 pm. Very good.
Wet morning. Rain all day. Fitting box aspirators for Draft. Chaplain comes to tea very nice time. Cross country run cancelled & footer on account of rain.
Fine morning. I don’t feel very well, have tooth ache, no sleep & headache. Turn in early.

Fine morning. Get a ground for footer matches & get it fixed up. Very cold & I have a bad tooth ache at night & no sleep until about 3.0 am.

Fine morning. Had a nice ride all on my own. Get back about 12.30 pm. NCOs parade Coy Drill 2.0 pm. Not good.

Fine morning, went for a nice ride. Coys Parade as usual. Chaplain came with me for about an hour and had a nice chat.
Wet morning. H.C. [Holy Communion] 8.0am. Church Service 9.45 am. Fine. Visit Coy billets with Colonel. Band play in afternoon from 2.0 pm – 3.30 pm. Vol service 6.30 pm. Rev WINGFIELD DIGBY late of Holy Trinity, Camp Hill, Birmingham, very good service & well enjoyed. Where there is no vision there they shall perish. Quite crowded and a lot turned away. Brig Gen WILDING attended. Had supper with Madame Le Fere.
Very cold morning, snow during night. Sleet starts to fall about 9.0am. I go for a ride on Bessie but am forced to return – roads too slippy. NCOs Parade 2.0 pm.Not very exciting, too cold & miserable. Wet night.
