Fine morning. Bttn. Parade 9.45 am. Close order drill very good, C. O. pleased with parade. Bayonet fighters commence practice for Div Compl. Row in Madame’s Estaminet at night, she hits soldier with canteen & causes a disturbance. I get Estaminet closed for Troops.

Wet morning. H C 8.0 am. Church Service 9.45. Presentation of medals at ERCOURT 11.0 am. We send 100 men to parade, nasty morning & they get wet. Sgnt HARROD, L Corp SMART, Pte ?ANKS, Cpl TEDDAR, CSM SHEPPARD & several others get Military Medals. Capt. BEAMISH gets Military Cross. Nasty day. 8 beat 11 2 – 0. 14 beat 13 10 –0. Vol Church Service at night 6.30 pm. Very good.

Wet morning. H.C. [Holy Communion] 8.0am. Church Service 9.45 am. Fine. Visit Coy billets with Colonel. Band play in afternoon from 2.0 pm – 3.30 pm. Vol service 6.30 pm. Rev WINGFIELD DIGBY late of Holy Trinity, Camp Hill, Birmingham, very good service & well enjoyed. Where there is no vision there they shall perish. Quite crowded and a lot turned away. Brig Gen WILDING attended. Had supper with Madame Le Fere.
