Battalion moved from Acheux , H.Q. A&D Coys. To MAILLY – B&C Coys to COLINCAMPS
Hard frost & very cold. Little snow. Colonel Forster went sick & Major Bannerman took over command of Battalion. Battalion marched to trenches at 5 pm. and relieved 10th R. Irish Rifles. Relief complete 8 pm. B, C & D Coy front line, “A” Coy in reserve. A quiet relief.
Village shelled at 8am by howitzer. Increased activity with guns and rifle fire. Very little sniping in Evening. 2 killed 2 Platoon 5th Notts & Derby’s relieved the other two in trenches.
