18 Apr. Trenches – MONCHY
Very quiet day. Relieved by 2nd R.DUB.FUS. at night and marched to Billets at BIENVILLERS. Dark night & very wet.
17 Apr. Trenches – MONCHY
Wet, cold day. Enemy fired 4 Aerial Torpedoes into SALIENT, one direct hit on a dugout, & 3 killed (Sgt. HOBBS, Corpl. HOGG & Pte. HOOMANS “A” Coy) At 4pm 25 men under Lieuts. SHUTE & GORMAN, raided Enemy trenches & bombed their dug-outs, & from the cries heard, appeared to have done much damage. The party returned at 4.10 pm., 1 man slightly wounded. Very little retaliation by enemy.
Congratulatory messages received from Division & Brigade Head Qrs. on success of raid. Lieut. SHUTE awarded Military Cross & Pte. HAZELL – Military Medal.
Account sent home.
16 Apr. Trenches – MONCHY
Aircraft active on both sides. Our guns again busy but Huns very quiet. Dark night and some rain.
15 Apr. Trenches – MONCHY
Another very quiet day and night. 4 Aerial Torpedoes fired into SALIENT , no damage. Our guns very active on front and support line.

Fine day, but cold. Very quiet day and night.

Wet day. Very little activity on either side. Dark night.

Battalion relieved 2nd DUB.FUS. in trenches at night. Very bad night, rain and dark.
11 Apr. BIENVILLERS
Fine warm day. Usual Working Parties. Regimental Canteen opened.
10 Apr. BIENVILLERS
Fine sunny day. Usual R.E. Working Parties under R.E.
Went to Mondicourt to get beer. Brought 6 Barrels French. Saw Buck Shears had tea with him, he took over my billet at Mad. Lecubin
