Battalion found working party on the trenches. Battalion beat 2nd R. Dublin Fusiliers 3-0 at Football in Lambton Cup.
3rd Dec. MAILLY- MAILLET
Battalion spent day drying and cleaning.
2nd Dec. TRENCHES
Hostile artillery quiet all day, our guns shelled the enemy’s front line. Relieved by 10th R.Irish R, at 8 pm. relief not completed until 5.30 am. (3rd) owing to state of trenches. Coys moved to Billets in MAILLY- MAILLET.
1st Dec. TRENCHES-SUCRERIE- MAILLY- MAILLET
Quiet day. Officers Patrol went out and reconnoitred [sic] the were [sic] round the Salient. C.S.M. Dodd killed late in the evening.
30th Nov. TRENCHES
Weather cleared up but every thing in a terrible state of mud. Front line very bad. A lot of men at work but a very uphill fight to keep pace. Lieuts F.N.H. Beamish, R.M. Spencer, R.W. Gorton, E.J.H. Mannsell joined on posting.
29th Nov. TRENCHES
Poured with rain all day. Trenches fell in & made impassable , but men kept cheerful. Very little activity, all busy baling.
