Day of rest. Lieut G.Crawford-Wood proceeded to England to join Welch [sic] Guards.[Note.The Welsh Guards were raised in February 1915]
22nd June – LANCASHIRE FARM
Heavy German Mortars opened on B Coy with effect, & fired 11 Bombs. Heavy Artillery fire on our right at 7.30 pm on TURCO FARM, in front of 16th Brigade. Battalion relieved at 9.30 pm by 2nd R.Dublin Fus. & Battalion marched to Billets at A 16 Central arriving 3.30 am. 1 man killed 3 wounded.
21st June – LANCASHIRE FARM
Very quiet day, a good deal of sniping at night, probably due to our bombing parties. 1 man wounded.
20th June – LANCASHIRE FARM
Heavy shelling of Canal Bank from 3.30 to 4am. Remainder of day fairly quiet. We sent Patrols out about 11pm to ascertain whether Germans were holding front line in strength. Bombs were thrown & trenches were considered to be quite strongly held. Fine day. 1 man wounded.
19th June – LANCASHIRE FARM
Heavy shelling of our front trenches continued. 2 men wounded.
