Fine day, nice & warm, but very cold at night. Det does parades. I take N.C.O.s at drill. Pte WATKINS wounded. Plenty of bombing etc, but not much news. Some rain in the night.

Oct 1 CAMP
Fine day again, very nice & warm, Det does parades & then scrubs equipt. Orderly rides up to Regt who are not having a very good time, bombing raids every night. Aircraft over again at night. Lt BEAMISH rejoins.
Sept 30
Fine morning, no church, Det parades for boot inspection etc. busy all morning. Aeroplanes again at night, we could see two very distinctly. 10th Bgde beat 12th Bgde Footer 6-1.
Sept 29 PALMA CAMP
Fine morning. Bttn moves to KAFFIR Camp preparatory to move into the line. I move with a party of 56 back to Div Res Bttn. March off 9.0am arrive about 1.0pm. Get settled down toward evening, nice little camp. Very heavy bombing at night & plenty of gunning. Poor sleep at night. Very cold.
Sept 28 PALMA CAMP
Fine day. Bttn does attack practice in morning. Generals Inspection at 2.30pm. Maj Gen MATHEISON our new Div Comdr. Everything went off well. Semi final & final of Bomb ball compt. Played A1 beat C1 D1beat A2 Final D beat A 2-0, very good sport. Good night.
Sept 27 PALMA CAMP
Dull morning but fine later. Coys do training. Bttn Team play 3/10 Middlesex at 2.15pm & we win a good game 4-0. Bomb ball compt at night 1st round, plenty of sport. Heavy bombing, good night sleep.
Sept 26 PALMA CAMP
Dull morning. Fine day later. Coys do training. We play 4th Coldstram Gds in afternoon & win 2-1 very good game. Cpl WILLIS strains himself but not much. Good night sleep.
Sept 25 PALMA CAMP
Fine morning. Much air activity. Coys do training & shooting. I go to Sea sports in the afternoon Wks [Warwickshires] do well in open events. Meet Sgnt Majors of 9th & 10th F.A. [Field Artillery] very good time. Hun plane over about 8.30pm dropped several bombs but not close to us.
Sept 24 PALMA CAMP
Misty morning, fine later & very hot day. Coys do training as usual & work on B & B range. Brig Gen FORSTER visits us in the afternoon looks well. Application sent in for 6 months in England.

Fine morning very heavy gunning. Church parade 10.0am. Eleven Hun planes over during service but turn before they reach camp. Fine night. Good sleep.
