Fine morning, get ready to move by lorry to ARRAS. I am detailed for billeting & proceed at 12.0 noon, arriving at ARRAS about 3.0pm. Get billets for Bttn in Rue de St Augustine. Home again for tea. Very heavy thunderstorm at night lasting from 1.0am to 7.0am heavy rain & very bad time. Not much sleep.

Fine day. Bttn does training. Two coys wiring etc, two coys on range. Very dull in afternoon like thunder, but it clears up later. Boxing competitions start 5.30pm. Very good fighting & we spend a pleasant evening up till about 8.30pm. Maj BANNERMAN pays us a visit. Quiet night.
