Fine day. Bttn does no parades for training as we expect to move tomorrow. Have Church parade in the morning at 10.0 am. very nice service. HC [Holy Communion] after service.

April 4 CAMBLAIN

Very heavy snow in the morning which keeps on until about 11.0 am. Big parade for the Bttn cancelled on account of weather. Fine afternoon & snow soon cleared except in sheltered places. Fine night. Draft of 40 arrive.

April 3 CAMBLAIN

Fine morning but dull. Bttn does parades except in afternoon. HB [Household Battalion] entertain the Officers, WO & NCOs to a concert in the evening 6.30 pm. Very nice concert & plenty to go. I remain till 11.0 pm & go home quite alright.

Mar 30 CAMBLAIN – CHATELAIN

Fine morning, heavy showers later. Coys do training. Detachment of B Coy return to Hd Qrs. Gd [Guard] mounts at 5.0 pm daily so as not to miss a parade. Nice afternoon.

Wet morning & very dirty. Coys do a little training. Lecture at 3.30 pm on consolidation of new line by Col. JOHNSON R.E. [ Royal Engineers], poor lecture, not a very good speaker. Rain all day.

Fine morning, sharp frost. Coys do training, nice day but rain again at night. Adjt. & several officers visit the line got back about 7.0 pm.
