Fine morning very cold. Coys do training parades. Glorious day, very heavy firing all day. Had a drop of rum at night & it got over me but I slept well. Heavy gunning during night.

2 Feb CAMP 112
Fine morning very cold again. We prepare to move to Camp 18 NE of SUZANNE. Div HdQrtrs & D Coy move at 1.24 pm, other coys at 200x intervals. C.B.A. arrive Camp 18 about 4 pm. Very dirty place. Get kits etc. up very late. Awful cold, some frost. Turn in about 10.0 pm. Poor night. C.O. goes on leave.

Fine morning rather milder. Fatigue Party of 150 on aerodrome. Remainder on Route March. Put in application for a month’s leave, don’t suppose it will come off. Trust to luck.

Fine morning, snow later but not much Coys training. Bgde Guard 2.45 pm. Still very cold. No English mail. Dull & slight snow at night.

Fine early morning, snow later, very cold still. Training parades as usual. Brig. Gen. Visits camp, snow again at night, quiter, no Hun planes about.
29 Jan CAMP 112
Fine morning, another sharp frost, wind very piercing. Training parades for Coys. Working party of 250 in afternoon. Hun Planes up again at night, many bombs dropped, not much sleep, turn in about 2.30 pm. Bgde Gd. No English mail.
28 Jan CAMP 112
Fine morning still very sharp frost, no parades except Church at 10.30 am, inspection of huts by C.O. Working party of 250 in afternoon for aerodrome. Hun plane up about 6.30 pm not near us.
27 Jan CAMP 112
Fine still & very cold. Training parades commence but very few men, as we find 250 again on aerodrome. Heavy gunning but no news. I see in paper that Guynemu (French) was the pilot who fetched the Hun plane down in flames, it fell near MAURE PAS. Bgde Gd. 2.45 pm.

Fine again, still very cold, we get perished in our huts which are very big with badly fitted boards. Cleaning up again. Working party in afternoon of 200 men for aerodrome. Lecture at 5.30 pm on the work of contact aeroplanes. Better night, no alarms.

Fine morning, very hard frost, we examine hole made by bombs, very small, ground very hard, huts pierced in a good many places. We clean up & have an easy day. Aircraft alarm again about 8.30 pm, 4 more bombs dropped but some distance away, but very disturbing, not much sleep again.
