Bttn. Route March. Parade 9.15 am. March via MAISINIERES-VISSE-AIGNEVILLE. Nice morning for march, very cold. Dublins leave Brigade to join IRISH DIV. Household Bttn. Arrive TEOUFLES. ADJT [Adjutant] goes on leave, but it gets cancelled & he returns. Port of HAVRE closed.

Fine day but dull. Coys training as usual. NCOs Parade 2.0 pm.

Rise at 6.0 am, very misty morning, orders received we do not go to AMIENS as the dentist is coming to 11^th F. A. No definite time for his arrival, so I ask permission of the Colonel to go out, which he grants & I walk back to TOURS arriving about 12.30 pm. Had a most miserable time and wont go again. Div band play in the afternoon 2.30 – 4.0 pm. Receive news that there will be no one filled in as QM to the 2^nd Bttn. Rotten luck but can’t be helped. Nasty day missley rain and mist.

Fine morning but dull. Church parade at 9.45 am. I leave by Amb car to see dentist at 10^th F. A [Field Ambulance] TEOUFLES. Wait there until 4.30 pm. Then leave by car for 11^th F.A. BIENCOURT. Arrive there about 6.0 pm. Get orders to leave for AMIENS at 7.30 am. Sleep on a stretcher with 4 dirty blankets, very bad sleep. Have dinner & tea with SM HATT 2 R.D. Fus, very good of them, both ambulances Par BONNE, no sociability & have to forage for myself. Div Band arrive 6.0 pm.

Dull misty morning. Go for a ride but feel very stiff, have a good ride & get in about 12.20 pm. Sub Offrs [Officers) & NCOs Parade at 2.0 pm. Coy Drill. Nasty afternoon, damp & miserable.

Fine morning, feel rather stiff in back & legs, have another ride to GAMACHES, enjoy it very well. Sun quite warm. NCOs parade at 2.0 pm. Coy Drill. Good hours work. Saw Red Rocket 6^th time.

Fine morning. I go for a ride from 10 –12 noon, get on quite alright & enjoy it, feel rather stiff. NCOs Parade at 2.0pm. Platoon Drill. Fine afternoon. Drums play at 4.0pm. POSTE returns from leave. Wet again at night.

Showery morning. Parade 8.0 am. For Div. Parade (Presentation of Medals). Time of parade 11.30 am. March to St. MAXEUL & arrive there about 9 .0 pm. [?am] Stay about ½ hour and then march on to parade ground. Stand on parade 2 hours very cold & wet, everybody fed up. March back about 12.10 pm arrive Tours about 1.40 pm. Wet night.

Wet morning & afternoon. Coys do a little training. Inspection of Draft by C.O. & M.O. NCO’s Platoon Drill 2.0 pm. Rain starts again about 2.45 pm & I dismiss. Very wet night.

Wet morning. Ct. Martial of Sgnt. RICHARDSON at REBAULT-MESNIL 10.00 am. Draft of 250 arrive 1.45 pm. I do guard on the Estaminet for Madame, not a good job & I slide out. Have a nice fresh herring for supper, very nice indeed.
