Parades under Coy [Company] Officers. Respirator drill. Orders received to relieve 2nd Lancashire Fusiliers & 1 Coy [Company] 2nd Essex Regt. in the Trenches from TURCO FARM to near CROSS ROADS FARMS. Relief completed by 11 pm. Head Qrs [Head Quarters] at IRISH FARM.

Quiet day. Shelled at intervals along the line. Battalion relieved by 11th Brigade at 9.30 pm. & marched to CHATEAU- VLAMERTINGHE & bivouaced [bivouacked] in wood. Men all very tired after 10 hard days in trenches.
