Slight thunderstorm during the day. Very little shelling. No casualties.

Slight shelling of BOREEN. Very quiet day. 1 wounded.

Seven “White Hopes” dropped on St Yves during the day. Twelve “Little Willie’s” about the BOREEN. Snipers active. 2 killed 1 wounded. 2^nd Lieut Hunt joined the Battalion.

Very wet day. Relieved R DUB FUS [Royal Dublin Fusiliers] in trenches in evening. Trenches awful for mud.

Working parties as on 15^th. Coy [Company] Commanders reconnoitre covered ways to DOUVE Section.

“B” did work in morning, “C” & “D” in evening. Fine.
