Fine day. Bttn does training. Two coys wiring etc, two coys on range. Very dull in afternoon like thunder, but it clears up later. Boxing competitions start 5.30pm. Very good fighting & we spend a pleasant evening up till about 8.30pm. Maj BANNERMAN pays us a visit. Quiet night.

Fine day Bttn does training, 2 Coys A&B wiring etc, C&D on range. Pte LONGBOTTOM accidentally wounded, very slight. Footer again at night 5 matches. Lt WILLIS gets the M.C.

Fine day very hot. Bttn goes for route march via MAGNICOURT – ETREE – WANNIN. They stick it well although very hot. Start footer matches again at 5.0pm, play 4 games.

Fine day, very hot. Bttn goes out to BEAUFORT training area & does attack, very well done & General satisfied, get back in about 2.0pm. Start 5 a side footer compt [competition] at night. 2 teams per coy 2 from HQ & 1 Transport, very pleasant time. Nice night quiet.

Fine morning. Church pde 10.0am very nice, no inspection by C.O. quiet day very hot.

Fine day. We take teams of 8 per coy on range for practice, very poor shooting, men don’t know how to fire rapid at all, quite a bad show. D Coy best team.

Fine day Bttn does training. I go on the range with Capt. STEVENS have a very good time do a bit of snap & rapid not too bad.

Fine morning. C.O. inspects Bttn on parade afterwards Coys do training. I take 4 runners to 12^th Bgde sports at Doffine Farm for the open mile which is won in grand style by Cpl J SHEPPARD get back about 7.45 pm Very pleasant afternoon. Blankets taken in from the men.
