As more businesses look to reopen their doors from 4 July, Dorset Council is working with town and parish councils, and alongside Dorset Police, to ensure the safety of residents and visitors across the county while social distancing measures remain in place.
The current COVID 19 crisis has seen almost 250 Dorset Council employees take up temporary new roles to support frontline services.
Dorset Council’s Leader, Cllr Spencer Flower, has a clear message for any potential visitors or day trippers thinking of coming to Dorset as a result of the government easing of lockdown restrictions: “Thinking of visiting Dorset now? Please think twice.”
On 1 May, Government announced a new £617 million discretionary fund which will be allocated to local authorities to give to small businesses who previously missed out on funding.
