Dorset Council has launched the second phase of public consultation to inform how they develop and deliver their library service in the future. Library users and non-users are being asked to share their views. The consultation runs from 29 September 2022 to 22 December 2022 and is available here.

From Monday 16 August customers of Dorset Libraries will be able to borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks for free, via the bigger and better BorrowBox service.
From 26 July Beaminster Library will begin to reopen and welcome back customers. Customers will be able to browse books and items to borrow and access a range of services, including use of computers and printing. Dorset residents can once again get face-to-face advice on any digital queries such as setting up and using devices including phones, tablets and PCs. Thanks to funding from an Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grant to develop libraries as cultural hubs, Dorset Library Service is to run a digital arts programme for young people and adults.
All 23 Dorset Council libraries will be open from Wednesday 2 December.
In line with Government regulations, Dorset Council’s libraries and Tourist Information Centres (TICs) across the county have now closed until Wednesday 2 December.
After the service was suspended in the wake of Covid-19 restrictions, Dorset Council is very pleased to be able to reintroduce reservations at libraries across the county.
