Studies that have been carried out as part of the evidence for the Dorset Council Local Plan and these will be published on Dorset Council’s website in the next few months.

Dorset Council is opening a further, limited, consultation on two revised policies of the Purbeck Local Plan. It will start on 6 December for seven weeks.
Work continues on the policies that underpin the Dorset Council Local Plan to ensure that it provides Dorset residents with the accommodation, employment and facilities that they will need over the next 17 years. This includes the need to provide housing for people who cannot afford to buy or rent from the housing market.
The comments that were received during the first consultation of the Draft Dorset Council Local Plan have been published on the council’s website.

Following two weeks of public hearings this summer on the Purbeck Local Plan, an additional three days of sessions are now planned for October.
Dorset Council has a legal requirement to produce and adopt a new local plan within the next four to five years. This will eventually replace the local plans adopted by the separate district and borough councils that existed before Dorset Council was formed.
A public examination of a plan for the former Purbeck District area takes place this summer.
