Adult service lead for Mosaic, Martin Turner, believes the Dorset Care Record is an important innovation and will make a difference across a range of health and social care fields.
Martin, who was the 50th DCC member of staff to sign up to the Dorset Care Record following mandatory training, said the DCR was a great tool for adult services, particularly those working with continuing healthcare assessments as it would help to enable faster completions and better outcomes for service users/patients.
“It can be a real challenge getting hold of some lead health professionals but having key information; for example medicines and allergies will also be a real benefit.”
“I think it will be very useful for all colleagues as it will give them a more holistic view of people’s situations.”
Information in the Dorset Care Record will also be useful for other partners: “Sharing our assessments will help regarding discharge planning from hospitals and will also help GPs’ knowledge of which professional may be working with one of their service users.” he said.
The Dorset County Council Mosaic management software system is due to feed in to the Dorset Care Record in February 2019.
