With 24/7 access to vital health and social care information across multiple providers, they’re saving time, improving outcomes and no longer chasing data that’s already in the DCR.

We are moving to a New DCR system during September 2026

The current DCR system is provided by Orion Health, and this contract is due to end on 30th September 2026. Going forward, the new DCR system will be provided by Interweave. The new DCR system has been designed by NHS clinicians and care workers. It contains the same data as the current system, but the way it is presented is different (i.e. new layout or new location – please see in particular the Quick Start Guides for the new DCR system). We hope you will find this clearer and easier to use.

Each DCR Partner organisation will be migrated to the new DCR system separately:

  • ICB – Tuesday 8th September 2026 at 8am
  • Dorset County Hospital – Wednesday 9th September 2026 at 8am
  • University Hospitals Dorset – Monday 14th September 2026 at 10am
  • Dorset HealthCare – Wednesday 16th September 2026 at 6pm
  • Dorset Council – Thursday 17th September 2026 at 6pm
  • BCP Council – Thursday 17th September 2026 at 6pm

How to access the DCR

  • To request access to the current or new DCR system, please see Account Requests – Dorset Care Record – Staff area.
  • Single sign-on access: Click on the DCR tab or link in your clinical system. When your DCR account gets migrated from the current DCR system to the new DCR system, the tab or link from your clinical system will take you directly to the new DCR system.
  • Portal/Web browser access: Log in with your DCR username and password on the DCR portal. The link to the portal will be emailed to you by DCRSystemAdmin@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk. For the new DCR system, the link will be specific to your organisation. You will also need to register your work mobile number, or the mobile number that you also use for work, with the DCR System Admin for the multi-factor authentication (MFA) step of providing you with secure access to the DCR. Please also note that if you work across multiple organisations, you will have organisation specific DCR portal links.
