We continue to see a rise in use of the Dorset Care Record – both in terms of numbers of patient records viewed and health and social care professionals trained to use the system.
Latest figures for February show that 19,008 records were viewed during the previous month, a rise of 1% on December’s figures. The number of pathology and radiology reports viewed also reached a record high of 4,676 during January. We now have 2,213 practitioners trained to use the DCR. This includes not only professionals from our acute and community hospitals, local authorities and GP surgeries but also community pharmacies and NHS hospitals outside the county taking Dorset patients, such as Yeovil Hospital, University Hospital, Southampton and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.
At present, we have 705 professionals from Dorset HealthCare trained to use the DCR, 572 from University Hospitals Dorset, 460 from our two local authorities and 336 from Dorset County Hospital.
