Operational lead for public facing digital access at home Crystal Dennis believes myDCR heralds a new era for patient empowerment
“Most people have access to smartphone technology – be it through a mobile, a tablet, a laptop or through a desktop device.
“So we need to make really good use of these type of technologies and be able to put a digital health passport into the hands of our population so that they can contribute to their records and so that we can access services in a different way.
“myDCR is going to enable a person or one of their carers or family members to gain access to someone’s health information, so things like your discharge summaries, clinical correspondence, test results – somebody having goals and actions set for them by their clinical team or indeed setting them for themselves.
“But importantly, they will be able to have just one point of access for all digital health information.”
“myDCR is a way of changing the way we access our health and social care services. I can’t wait to put that technology into the hands of our patients, so that they can truly own their own records and contribute to them,” she added.
