Welcome to our latest stakeholder update about progress of the Dorset Care Record. This will be my last update as I have moved to become a Communications Business Partner for Adults and Housing at Dorset Council.
Two adult hospices join our shared care record
Two of Dorset’s adult hospices – Lewis Manning Hospice Care at Poole and Dorchester-based Weldmar Hospice have joined the Dorset Care Record (DCR). They will be able to provide end of life care information for our core partners as well health and social care organisations across the county.

Additional functionality added to the DCR
In January we announced that adult alerts from Dorset Council have been added to the DCR. Among the type of alerts being shared are details of any allergies, serious communicable disease, potential injury risk from the home environment, missing persons, safeguarding alerts and history of violence from service users.
We also announced that nearly 70 alerts from Dorset County Hospital have been added, including allergy alerts such as hay fever, latex, house dust, bees and wasps and alerts around specific medical conditions, such as possible cases of tuberculosis and previous pressure ulcer alerts.
