Our business analyst Theresa Smith runs through the functionality available in our patient health record myDCR in this video.

Ahead of the launch of our pilots, she talks about the appointments, goals and actions available so that you can better look after your health. Theresa also touches on shared files and how you can add people to your support network and the health and video library available on the system.

The video was first aired at the Digital Dorset Festival of the Future Health and Social Care Day last week.

We’re looking forward to taking part in Digital Dorset’s Festival of the Future 2021. We’re involved in  the health and social care day on Friday 8 October and will be online and present at Moors Valley Country Park.

We’re planning to show our new myDCR video for our patient portal. Filming took place at the end of September at University Hospitals Dorset and editing is fully underway. Our business analyst Theresa Smith will also be showing what you can expect from the patient portal. And finally our Senior Reporting Officer Peter Gill and head of digital innovation Crystal Dennis are in the spotlight in a Q and A session with DCR’s Communications officer Tony McDougal

Festival of the Future – Dorset Care Record and saving lives

Updated Video Infographic – Autumn 2020

We’ve updated our video infographic highlighting our latest developments over the past three months. Changes include:

  • A rise in the number of records accessed to more than 13,000 per month
  • A jump in the number of primary care (GP items of information) being accessed to 6,000+/month
  • An increase in the number of radiology and pathology reports viewed by health and social care professionals to more than 3,000 per month
  • More than 11,000 log-ins by care providers over the past month

The Dorset Care Record journey – Lesson learnt from implementing the DCR

The Integrated Care System in Dorset selected Orion Health in April 2017 to power the Dorset Care Record. The first iteration went live in February 2018. In this video, our technical solutions architect Andy Hadley and Channel 3 Director of Programmes Matthew Jones talked through some of the challenges that needed to be overcome to get the record to where it is now.

Matthew and Andy talk through the role of the partnership, technical considerations, governance and consent and look at upcoming developments, including care pathways and a citizen portal.
