Over the weekend, we have successfully introduced several new features into our shared care record:
Automatic publishing of documents.
Documents such as inpatient discharge summaries and clinical letters can now be automatically made available to patients in myDCR following the release 9 deployment. This is important as it is one of the key enablers for rolling out the patient portal (myDCR) to a wider audience. After the release, the acute hospitals will be able to decide which documents can be published automatically. It is anticipated that in the first instance, this will include clinic letters for diabetes and rheumatology and results for cancer patients using the remote monitoring service and inpatient discharge summaries.
Patients will be able to access these documents via the patient portal rather than receive a printed copy, saving time and money for the NHS.
myDCR Upgrade
There is a new and improved user interface which will boost the look and feel of the poral and enhance patient experience. Upgrading the patient portal at this time will allow us in the future to move to more exciting developments such as self-registration and enable patients to link their appointments to Google maps so they know exactly where to go.
Essential maintenance
Release 9 included upgrades to key parts of the DCR system including the patient portal and the care pathway products. These upgrades are essential to maintaining the integrity of the system and ensuring it can be effectively supported.
Included in the upgrades were a number of minor fixes that will improve the usability of both the DCR and myDCR.
