Dorset Care Record training

The DCR training has been carefully designed to be streamlined for busy health and social care professionals yet not compromise on safety of information.

  • The DCR training is comprised of two mandatory modules covering security and information sharing. These modules should take no longer than an hour in total to complete both.
  • There are three further modules: introduction, navigation, and radiology, pathology & referrals designed to provide more detailed information on DCR. These are no longer mandatory as we are mindful of time issues. However, we do recommend these modules to help make it easier to use DCR in respect of finding and interpreting information.
  • The DCR training consists of e-learning, meaning that it can be completed in your own time and at a place convenient to you. Alternatively, we can offer facilitated sessions to support groups of staff through the e-learning. If you are a manager, please contact us to arrange this for your team dorsetcarerecord@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk
  • The training modules have been designed and created by our dedicated Training Officer, Helene. The content and format of the training has been agreed by DCR’s Information Governance Group, Training Group and Board. Each group contains representatives from each of our partner organisations.

Using the DCR will lead to many long term time saving benefits for staff. Please see our public website for full details of the benefits.
