Inactive User Survey launched – Why people may not be using the DCR

An inactive user survey is being circulated to find out why people no longer use the Dorset Care Record.  The DCR is being used by nearly 4,000 health and social care professionals. Most are using Single Sign On click throughs from their Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system to get into the DCR at the touch of a button.

From a recent survey in February 2022 with active users, we learnt that approx. 95% of users saved time, and were able to improve the care they give by using our shared care record. Continue reading “Inactive User Survey launched – Why people may not be using the DCR”

Dorset Care Record – Stakeholder Update: April 2022

Welcome to our latest stakeholder update about progress of the Dorset Care Record and our new patient portal, myDCR. This has gone out to our top 30 stakeholders and provides a snapshot of some our work over the past 6 months:

Growing the Dorset Care Record

More than 76,000 patient records were viewed by health and social care professionals in March, making it the busiest month ever for our shared care record. The figure was nearly 14% per cent higher than in February and meant there were 2,400 records being accessed every day. The number of active users also rose, highlighting the success of our online training around information sharing and security. Nearly 4,000 staff have now completed this training. Patient portal myDCR goes live

Our patient portal myDCR successfully went live at the weekend, marking a major development of our care record.

Users will notice a new button entitled myDCR across the subject matter section of the Dorset Care Record. We will begin adding patient records through a range of pilots over the next few weeks.

Unless you are involved in the pilots we would ask you not to use the myDCR button for the time being.

If you are interested in being involved in a pilot site please speak to our myDCR project manager Jodie Crowfoot – Jodie.crowfoot@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk

Benefits baseline established for the Dorset Care Record

Research suggests that the Dorset Care Record (DCR) has enabled efficiency savings of more than £1.4m in the first nine months of the 2021/2 financial year.

As more feeds came into the DCR and usage grew, time savings rose from £333,109 in the first quarter of the year to £586,675 in quarter three, according to the analysis.

It is projected that a total of just under £2m will be saved during the financial year from time savings and consumables, based upon the end of December DCR unique user figures. Continue reading “Benefits baseline established for the Dorset Care Record”

DCR Training: New booking system

Our training manager Laura Bonner is launching in January a new way to book on our mandatory facilitated training webinar on information sharing and security.

Rather than emailing the DCR training mailbox, staff can now book themselves directly onto the Teams webinar. And if staff find themselves unable to attend the booked session, they can unbook or simply book themselves on another date.

Laura said: “Hopefully, this new streamlined process will be smoother for everyone.”

You can book from the links below

Robots assisting the Dorset Care Record

All of Dorset GPs are being given click through access to the Dorset Care Record (DCR) thanks to an emerging form of business process automation technology based on software robots (bots) or artificial intelligence (AI) workers.

The process – known as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) – has been created by IT specialists at Dorset CCG using a solution from global leader in intelligence automation Blue Prism. Continue reading “Robots assisting the Dorset Care Record”
