Benefits work nets Dorset Care Record a place in the final of national awards competiton

Delivery of efficiency savings along with benefits in patient experience, care and safety has led the Dorset Care Record to be shortlisted for a national award. The shared care record is through to the Health Tech Efficiency Savings of the Year award.

Benefits found include the delivery of just over £2m in efficiency savings to its health and social care partners in 2021-2, with efficiency savings increasing over time as more data was added, making it easier for users to find information without logging into other systems or making enquiries. Inactive User Survey launched – Why people may not be using the DCR

An inactive user survey is being circulated to find out why people no longer use the Dorset Care Record.  The DCR is being used by nearly 4,000 health and social care professionals. Most are using Single Sign On click throughs from their Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system to get into the DCR at the touch of a button.

From a recent survey in February 2022 with active users, we learnt that approx. 95% of users saved time, and were able to improve the care they give by using our shared care record. Continue reading “Inactive User Survey launched – Why people may not be using the DCR”

Dorset Care Record – Stakeholder Update: April 2022

Welcome to our latest stakeholder update about progress of the Dorset Care Record and our new patient portal, myDCR. This has gone out to our top 30 stakeholders and provides a snapshot of some our work over the past 6 months:

The figure was nearly 14% per cent higher than in February and meant there were 2,400 records being accessed every day. The number of active users also rose, highlighting the success of our online training around information sharing and security. Nearly 4,000 staff have now completed this training. Patient portal myDCR goes live

Our patient portal myDCR successfully went live at the weekend, marking a major development of our care record.

Users will notice a new button entitled myDCR across the subject matter section of the Dorset Care Record. We will begin adding patient records through a range of pilots over the next few weeks.

Unless you are involved in the pilots we would ask you not to use the myDCR button for the time being.

If you are interested in being involved in a pilot site please speak to our myDCR project manager Jodie Crowfoot – Jodie.crowfoot@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk
