Progress of myDCR pilots

Since going live in March, we have completed nine pilots in collaboration with partners at University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) and Dorset County Hospital (DCH).

This has involved the Diabetes, Rheumatology and Motor Neurone Disease teams engaging with more than 800 patients, with over two hundred patients registering for their myDCR account. They have used it to keep track of their appointments, read clinic outcome letters and create a representative for themselves in the My Support Network section of the portal. Animation: How to use myDCR and what will I be able to do?

Watch our short animation which focuses on what patients need to do when they are invited by clinicians to join myDCR. This 2 minute video also looks at what patients will in due course be able to see in our patient record, including viewing upcoming appointments, clinic letters, discharge summaries, blood test results, allowing friends and family access to myDCR and viewing the bespoke health library.

Patient portal myDCR goes live

Our patient portal myDCR successfully went live at the weekend, marking a major development of our care record.

Users will notice a new button entitled myDCR across the subject matter section of the Dorset Care Record. We will begin adding patient records through a range of pilots over the next few weeks.

Unless you are involved in the pilots we would ask you not to use the myDCR button for the time being.

If you are interested in being involved in a pilot site please speak to our myDCR project manager Jodie Crowfoot – Jodie.crowfoot@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk
